Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you tell me about your service?
A: When cleaning your home, we provide two team members for every cleaning who use only eco-friendly, recyclable cleaning supplies that are never tested on animals. Our products are safe for you, your family, your pets, our team members and the planet we all share. If it is an office, our staff only uses non-toxic products to create a healthier working environment.

Q: What makes your services different from any other cleaning service?
A: Our Regular cleaning is more thorough than that of other cleaning services. We provide all supplies and equipment needed to clean your home. You don't have to worry about getting materials the day before. We have it covered. In addition there is no cross-contamination from home to home. We use clean materials for each and every cleaning. Unlike other cleaning services, our Green Maids will always clean reachable corners, the top of the shower, moveable furniture and will move objects on a counter in order to clean underneath them - not just around them.

Q: What supplies do I need?
A: We are equipped with our own eco-friendly green cleaning supplies and equipment. You don't have to worry about providing any supplies or equipment. If you do prefer to use your own, that is fine, simply let us know prior to arrival. Please note, for insurance and liability reasons, our green maid teams cannot clean anything above 7ft and cannot climb higher than a one-step step-stool.

Q: We have pets, is that okay?
A: Absolutely. We enjoy them and are used to working around them. If your pets are a bit skittish with new people, it may be best to keep them in an enclosed area until he/she gets used to the team members. Please remember that extra time is needed to remove pet hair.

Q: Are You Bonded?
A: For your protection, we are bonded and licensed.

Q: Do you screen your employees?
A: Green Girl Maid Service does perform background checks on applicants. Each green maid is thoroughly trained prior to sending out for service. All of our green maid team members are over-the-table employees, are legally employed with our company (which means your dollars stay local and go back into our local economy) and all State & Federal taxes are paid on our green team members.

Q: Am I liable for worker's compensation, insurance and/or payroll taxes?
A: Most homeowner's are not aware of his/her personal liability regarding work related injuries or social security taxes for independent home-service workers. Green Girl Maid Service is not a referral service and each individual is an employee of Green Girl Maid Service, therefore, Green Girl Maid Service takes care of all this so there is no need to worry.

Q: Can I have the same green maids if I use your service on a regular basis?
A: As long as you book on a regular day and time we can usually send the same green maid team to your home. Please be advised that if a team member is sick we may have to substitute him/her with another team member.

Q: Do I need to be home when the team arrives to clean?
A: Most of our clients are not home when we clean but we encourage our client's to be there to meet the green maid team members on the first cleaning and point out any areas of concern. Green Girl Maid Service is the first cleaning service in Orange County to offer a lockbox program. Instead of leaving a key under a mat or having the company hold your personal keys, we offer a secure lockbox system for only $8.99 per month. Only you and Management have access to the code and it is changed every month, if you wish. There is no longer a fear of someone seeing the team bend down to get a key or leaving a door open. Simply leave a key in the secure lockbox at the location of your choice on your property and the Manager will access it upon his/her arrival and return to the secure location, locking the key inside when leaving the home.

Q: What type of products do you use?
A: Green Girl Maid Service uses the exclusive line of Native Ten plant based cleaning products. All are Made in the USA and are never tested on animals. We also use Naturally It's Clean (a vegetable enzyme cleaner) for all washable floors.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Although we are aware that unforeseen circumstances arise, we ask you provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. When a service is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, this limits, and often times prevents our ability to fill the reserved time for your cleaning. Services cancelled within a 24 hour time-frame will be billed a $30 cancellation fee. Upon-arrival cancellations and same day cancellations will be billed the full amount of the service or $100, whichever is less. Please keep in mind that we still pay our green maid teams when they arrive at your home and we get locked out and/or you sent us home.

Q: Should I tip my green maid?
A: Our green maid teams are not expecting gratuities but greatly appreciate them should you choose to do so.

Q: What if I am not satisfied with my cleaning?
A: If you are not completely satisfied with your cleaning, let us know within 24 hours of service and we will make arrangements to re-clean the area which you are dissatisfied.

Q: What form of payment do you accept?
A: A credit card is required to hold any/all cleaning reservations prior to service. Upon service, we accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Please note a 3% processing fee is added to all credit card payments.
